We focus on respect for each client, attempting to provide each one with the best design possible while working not only within their budget, but also within a framework of profound respect for our planet and the natural resources found here.

Over the course of 31 years, we have designed not only custom residential homes and accessory dwelling units, but also distinctive non-profit and tribal projects across the region. Additionally, with recent and ongoing fire devastation that has affected so many, we have been honored to have been chosen to build homes for several of those affected families.

We are at the forefront of Innovative Green Building Technologies. We believe our first duty as architects is to create spaces that celebrate the excitement and mystery of our world in ways respectful of nature’s laws. We respect materials in the broadest possible sense, including their origins and fate. Our current work is dedicated to developing sustainable building practices, and we are committed to designs that consume minimal nonrenewable resources within their lifetime. Some materials we love designing with are straw bale, foam core sandwich panels, and insulated composite concrete form blocks, all known for their fire-resistive qualities. Slide through the post’s images for more advantages of these building techniques.

We respect the fundamental role of art in the practice of architecture, integrating natural shapes and materials, which is one of the reasons I partnered with my late father and renowned artist, James Hubbell, with whom I founded the firm in 1995. One of our core principles is that we work diligently to design with the landscape, not on it, as seen in some of these homes where the site’s boulders are incorporated into the designs.
