What is limewash?

Limewash is a textured paint made from crushed limestone that is fired at very high temperatures, mixed with water, and colored with natural pigments. Lime paint has a lot of history even dating back to Roman times.

Benefits of using limewash:

  1. NON-TOXIC: Limewash is a natural product made from lime, water, and pigment.
  2. DURABLE: Limewash can be used on both interior and exterior walls and can last for many years.
  3. REMOVES ODORS: Limewash acts as an air filter, removing odors (and carbon dioxide) from the air.
  4. HYPOALLERGENIC: The alkaline pH of limestone makes limewash resistant to mold and bacteria.
  5. AESTHETICS: Limewash creates a natural, old-world feeling bringing warmth into interior and exterior spaces.
  6. CUSTOMIZABLE: Limewash comes in any color and can be textured to your liking.
