Lemon Grove ADU

These clients in Lemon Grove wished to build an ADU that would allow them to rent out the space while maintaining the privacy of their own home. We designed a bright and welcoming 576 SF unit above the existing detached garage maximizing south-facing views, utilizing passive solar design. While admitting the amazing San Diego sunshine, it is also well-ventilated to cool the space. The living room is separated from the bedroom by a rustic 9 1/2 foot sliding wooden door, allowing privacy from the main living area if wanted and flexibility in the layout and openness of the space. The design of the unit creates a spacious feeling with industrial and rustic touches and appliances throughout.
