Hubbell & Hubbell is committed to incorporating the beautiful play of form, light and shadow into each unique structure we create. We are equally committed to developing environmentally sound building practices that support sustainable ways of living.

 

Current

The Current section is where you will find the projects we are working on now and some of our most recently finished projects.

 

Residences

Residences present personal spaces for private clients. Our commitment to the marriage of beauty to sustainability can be seen in such homes the Beaton residence, or in the unique Dunham-Kidwell straw-bale residence, which features a large indoor boulder as an integral element of temperature regulation.

 

Community

Community projects range from an Earth Discovery Institute at Crestridge Ecological Preserve to the Friends’ Center, a San Diego mid-city energy-efficient center for peace, justice and spiritual growth, to a straw bale Seed Bank for the Wild Animal Park. Here you can also see James Hubbell’s famous Sea Ranch Chapel.
