Pickering Place Park was designed to bridge two commercial areas that were otherwise inaccessible to pedestrian traffic. The park offers a 400-seat amphitheater, a fountain, two plazas and a 120′ pedestrian bridge spanning an active wetland. Inlaid mosaic images depicting native wildlife dot the various pedestrian plazas. Monolithic granite stones decorated with modern “petroglyphs” illustrating the history of the area form a dramatic backdrop to the amphitheater which is used to stage festivals and community celebrations.
